Sliding sash windows have been around for generations and have retained their popularity all these years later. One explanation might be due to a sliding sash window suiting virtually every property type, something that isn’t necessarily true of all window designs. These particular sliding sash windows contain Georgian bars and function just how they’re meant to – they have a moveable panel that you can push upwards to create an opening. The prime difference between a modern sliding sash window and traditional equivalent is that these sliding sashes are made from UPVC.
The householder’s fondness of Georgian bars also dictated their decision to include them in the French doors. You can see that the French doors also have accompanying side panels to extend their design. It has become second nature for the occupants to use the double opening to give them a passage into the garden. Crafting that arched sash window was one of our most challenging tasks, but it was a challenge that we relished and accomplished impressively. The old front door was replaced too and the black finish applied to the new door makes the entranceway look so much more polished and imposing than it did previously. Another job well done!
