You have to be prepared to put in a lot of work to maintain wooden windows or else their appearance and performance diminishes and it can be hard to restore them back to how they should be. There’s far less work involved in sustaining the condition of a UPVC window, so if you love the look of wood you can always have a UPVC window frame finished in an external Rosewood colour, like in this example. They will never have to tend to their windows as UPVC only needs a wipe now and again, even on the inside of the frames.
The house is so much more secure post-window installation as we incorporate multi-point locking mechanisms into our UPVC window designs. When these locking systems are fully engaged, they massively minimise the threat posed by thieves as they can try and use considerable force to break them open but will fail in their efforts. A+ rated glass was inserted into the window frames as the occupants were also keen to reduce the cost of their energy bills and this is one of the most energy efficient glasses you can get. One of our last jobs was to fit a set of French doors to offer an access point onto the upstairs balcony.
