You can very quickly tell apart a composite door from any other door by the thickness of the door frame. Composite doors can have a door sash with a thickness of around 50mm, which is far denser than most replacement front doors.

Please don’t feel like you have egg on your face when you mistake a composite door for a traditional timber door. It has a natural woodgrain effect, just like a wooden door, but it is manufactured from several materials, rather than just wood.
