Looks really can be deceiving. Visitors to this house have been taken aback after discovering that this extension built by ERG wasn’t part of the original building and is only a recent installation. The roofing system we used had a big part to play in creating this impression as the lightweight slates are almost identical to the slates used on the roof of the house. The tallness of the ceiling has enabled very prolonged glazed sections to be included in the design and the light that passes through this glass strongly emphasises the quirkiness of the chosen décor.
The bold, black guttering sits above an internal pelmet housing a series of spotlights. Their purpose is to expose the conservatory-like extension at night which must make neighbouring householders extremely envious. It’s frequently occupied throughout the day as all cooking, dining and relaxing can be done in the one setting. Much of the time the occupiers find themselves chewing the fat with one another while admiring the patio and garden, but they often have very little urge to exchange the indoors for the outdoors as they gain so much comfort from the extension. We bet it has made you want an extension of your own!
