- Commission a window and door upgrade
Your windows and doors will be a prime target for thieves. Any flaws and deficiencies in them will easily exploited by a thief that knows every trick in the book.

- Keep your holiday hush-hush
In contemporary society, people often like to take to social media to tell their followers they’re on holiday somewhere hot and exotic.

So that a thief doesn’t gain awareness of your absence from home online, save any holiday-related posts until you return.
- Ask someone to house-sit
While we’re on the topic of holidays, before you do your packing and head for the airport, see if someone you trust would be kind enough to keep an eye on your house.
Provide them with a spare key so that they can remove any post from your letterbox and open and close your curtains to hopefully disguise the fact that the property is unoccupied for a week or two.
